The Center

Welcome to The Center!

The center.  The center of what?  The aim anyway is the center of God Most High, the Great I Am, through the center of His Son.  The center is now.  It is not past or future.  It is neither good nor bad.  It simply is.  It is the only place that cannot be measured or quantified.  It is the Tree of Life as opposed to the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.  It is infinite.  It is truth.  It is abiding in and within. It is the only place where unconditional love and peace exist and since sin means missing the mark, bullseye or center it is the only place without sin.

Hitting the center is a process of trying over and over and over again.  Sometimes we get closer.  Sometimes we get further.  It is a mighty endeavor, but I am taking aim with the hope that together we will get even a little bit closer to living every part of our lives in His Center.

Don't forget, we're taking a trip to the Museum of Fine Arts on March 22. You won't need to bring a lunch, but you must have your permission slip signed and with you when you get on the bus.

Assignment 4 is not due until April 3 (instead of March 31).

Here, I might put a weekly brain teaser, for example:

Three less than 4 times a number is greater than 4 times the sum of the number and 1. Find all such numbers.

Last week's answer: 4

What is Truth

truenorthcompass.jpg

"What is Truth?" Pilate asked Jesus.  I assume he meant it is all relative.  Truth can range from simple to elegant.  Some truth we recognize through experience, some we know by experiment, and others we accept without questioning. To simplify this diversity, we can split truths into two categories. There are those that reside within us, which will be gone when we humans are, and those that lie outside us. The first is an impression; emotional, ephemeral, and social. It lies within the domain of art and literature and most of us feel it at some level when we encounter it. The second is mathematical, permanent, and somehow not of this world. This exterior truth is often more difficult to attain and to understand.

I'll post the answers on the "Class Bulletin Board" page.
